The Cities 97 Post-Race Concert
Come for the race, stay for the concert. This year's band will be Chris Hawkey.
Chris Hawkey sings lead vocals in his band, which has been together since
2004 and are a regular in the Twin Cities music scene. In addition to Chris,
the band is comprised of Darren Schauer (drums), Tim Walterson (lead
guitar) and Jess Vraspir (bass guitar). In the past two years, the band has
built a faithful following and opened for such acts as Cheap Trick, Molly
Hatchet, Quiet Riot, Dave Pirner (of Soul Asylum) and The Violent Femmes,
Collective Soul, Counting Crows as well as has played at numerous
Minnesota-based city celebrations as well as the Minnesota Vikings Party on
the Plaza.
